Jake Paul didn't exactly mince words when it came to Ryan Garcia.

"You just seem like you're losing your mind and acting thirsty and desperate and saying you're a billionaire when you had one money fight," Paul told reporters Saturday. "I'm just saying, just chill bro. If you do want to fight, that's, to me, light work. You got no footwork. And as long as you've been in the game, I'm a better boxer than you."

After Paul defeated Ryan Bourland via a first-round knockout on Saturday, Garcia took to social media and challenged the 27-year-old to a fight in an expletive-filled series of posts:

Notably, Garcia said he "feels so f-----g bad for introducing Jake Paul to boxing" and called out the fighter for a lack of respect toward the sport.

While Paul first became famous as a YouTube star, he is now 9-1 as a boxer with six knockouts following Saturday's win. He has plenty of momentum as well after he also defeated Andre August in December.

His only defeat came against Tommy Fury in February 2023, and that was via split decision. Fury is the half-brother of heavyweight great Tyson Fury.

Yet Garcia would be a new type of challenge for Paul.

Garcia is a former WBC interim lightweight champion who sports a 24-1 record with 20 knockouts. He is fighting against Devin Haney for the WBC super lightweight title on April 20 with the opportunity to further cement his place in the sport.

But a matchup with Paul would not be a straightforward victory.

"Garcia is significantly smaller than Paul—his matchup with Haney is contested at 140 pounds, whereas Paul's win over Bourland was contested at 200 pounds—however Garcia would represent, by far, the most experienced boxing opponent Paul has fought," MMA Fighting explained.

It remains to be seen who Paul will face next after prevailing against Bourland, but Garcia would be a golden opportunity to pick up a noteworthy win.
