When Does 'Road House' (2024) Come Out on Amazon Prime ...

If you’re disappointed that you didn’t witness a bar fight over St. Patrick’s Day weekend, don’t worry: A new Road House remake is coming to Amazon Prime this week, and has more than enough bar fights to keep you entertained.

Directed by Doug Liman, with a script by Anthony Bagarozzi and Chuck Mondry, this 2024 spin on the 1989 Patrick Swayze movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a former UFC fighter hired as a bouncer at a bar in the Florida Keys. The bar, named only The Road House, has been dealing with some rowdy customers as of late. But they are no match for Dalton (Gyllenhaal), a man who politely inquires about his victims’ health insurance situation before he ruthlessly beats them up. He even drives them to hospital afterwards! He’s a nice guy! You know, except for the whole “beating people up” thing.

The best part? Liman cast real-life UFC champion Conor McGregor to play Gyllenhaal’s antagonist in the movie. It’s a match you definitely don’t want to miss, so here’s what you need to know about where to watch the new Road House movie and what time Road House 2024 will be streaming on Amazon Prime.

Road House movie release date:

The 2024 Road House movie will be released on streaming on Thursday, March 21, on Amazon Prime Video. The movie will be free to all Amazon Prime subscribers.

What time will the new Road House movie be on Amazon Prime?

UPDATE, 3/20/24: According to the official landing page for Road House on Amazon, the Road House movie release time  is 3 a.m. Eastern Time, or 12 a.m. Pacific Time, on the morning of Thursday, March 21. This is a change from previous releases of Amazon titles, which in the past have released at midnight GMT, allowing U.S. viewers to watch the movie as early as the night before the release.

But that’s not the case with Road House, apparently. You’ll have to either stay up late on Wednesday night, or just watch the movie at any time on Thursday, March 21.

Where to watch the Jake Gyllenhaal movie Road House online:

The Road House movie will be available to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime beginning on Thursday, March 21. You’ll need an Amazon Prime subscription in order to watch the movie, or a login from a friend. You will not be able to buy or rent the 2024 Road House movie online.

Is Road House on Netflix?

Road House (2024) is not on Netflix, nor will it ever be on Netflix. Road House is an Amazon Studios original, and will be streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in perpetuity.

Is Road House (2024) playing in theaters?

Road House will not be playing in theaters, much to the chagrin of director Doug Liman, who said in an op-ed for Deadline that he would be boycotting the premiere to protest the streaming-only release of his film. Gyllenhaal, when asked to comment, said he always understood the movie would be streaming-only. (The movie did have a very small, special release in a handful of theaters, via the Army & Air Force Exchange Service.)

But for the vast majority of audiences, the new Road House will only be streaming on Amazon Prime Video, for Amazon Prime subscribers. Unless you own a private home theater, you won’t get to watch this one on the big screen. Sorry!
