Your Wellington Easter Weekend sorted

Good Friday
4. Discover something new in the city

Wellington is jam-packed with lots of nature, epic views, and places to explore. With a few days up your sleeve, why not head out on a new adventure around the capital? Check out our top picnic spots, and the great walks and beaches on offer in Pōneke.

5. Go on an adventure at the Cable Car

The Easter Bunny has lost his eggs at the Cable Car while showing around new lemur friends including A-lister King Julien. With prizes up for grabs from Wellington Zoo, you can join the team at the Cable Car to find these lost eggs.

This is a free event to participate in for any Cable Car ticket holder. The Easter Egg hunt runs from Good Friday (29 March) through to Easter Monday (1 April). Winners of prizes will be contacted via email on Wednesday 3 April.

Take note of changes to services and facilities over the Easter weekend

Our services and facilities change slightly on public holidays, so just a reminder that:

There will be no rubbish and recycling collected on Good Friday (29 March), so please put it out on Saturday 30 March instead. Collections will happen as per normal on Easter Monday (1 April).  On street metered Parking is free around Wellington on public holidays: Good Friday (29 March) and Easter Monday (1 April). Some facilities and services may have reduced hours or may be closed, you can find these out on our holiday hours webpage.

Watch out each Friday for a fun list of five great activities to do, places to explore, or things to discover in our awesome city.
